A technical and challenging course awaits you…

This closed road course has changed little since the event was started over 40 years ago, but is now slightly longer to accommodate the needs of a National A event.

The circuit starts at the top of the High Street adjacent to Holy Trinity Church, before immediately narrowing, after which riders bear right onto the Upper High Street on the right-hand side of the carriageway.

The circuit continues to the end of Upper High Street where riders must navigate a U-turn (past the “service pits”)

before continuing back along Upper High Street and then turning right onto the North Street descent.

Riders enjoy the smooth tarmac of North Street before a tight left-hander, and a tricky change of surface, into Market Street where the road narrows and rises before the 90-degree left turn onto the cobbled High Street.

From here it is upwards to the start/finish line outside Holy Trinity Church… and around again!

A mix of tarmac, paving stones and cobbles, riders need to keep their wits about them on this challenging course!

..think you’re up to it?

Registration is only possible in advance, via the British Cycling website. No entries will be accepted on the night.

Selection for the National Series events will be made in accordance with the Series Regulations.

Given the technical nature of the course recent results (from British Cycling) will be taken into account when accepting/rejecting riders.

Youth races have a maximum field size of 70 riders (A/B) and 70 (C/D). The organisers will attempt to balance entries across age categories and gender.

This event is often oversubscribed and acceptance of entries is at the sole discretion of the organisers
